Cantilevered steel stairs with maple treads

These cantilevered stairs were quite a nice challenge for me to make and finish. The general contractor mounted the steel plates into the foundation rebar and cribbing before the concrete was poured so we had a really solid base to start with. Making the steps out of structural tubing was fairly straight forward but the landings were a bit more technical as the angles were different for each. As anyone who knows me knows that I really enjoy a challenge and this project was no different. In the end after the steps were welded to the plates and the maple treads were created and installed they really are quite a nice feature in the house. Seeing the steps hang out from the concrete you would think they could be a bit bouncy but there is absolutely no movement whatsoever! The homeowners can be confident that these steps will last.

Let me help you create a dream feature in your home.
